♦ Why do I get an error message when I try to remove a My Policy Library document?

If the policy document you’re trying to remove is included in a Compliance Activity, then MPC won’t allow it to be removed.  MPC displays a message saying “Cannot delete [Policy Document Name], is being used by other ECR modules.”

The reason is that your Compliance Activities are the heart of your ECR and, if under review in an audit, an auditor may be suspect of a system that allows you to effectively erase history.

So, to maintain integrity of the data and your ECR, once a policy document is used in a Compliance Activity, the policy document cannot be removed.

The process is similar to that used in medical records: if you need to change something, you don’t actually change it; rather, you make a new entry and a note that the first entry has been amended.
