♦ What do I do if I have an employee that is on the OIG or SAM exclusion database list?

First, you should make certain that the employee you believe is on the OIG or SAM exclusion list is really the individual named on the OIG or SAM exclusion list.  Many people have the same first and/or last names, so it is important to check all of the information for “MATCH” on the MPC exclusion checks screen.

If you believe you have a true match and that you may have hired an individual that is on the OIG or SAM exclusion list, you should go to the federal government’s OIG or SAM’s website and verify by checking for additional matching data such as Social Security Number and date of birth.
